Who's that girl?

Eurythmics and Annie Lennox
The story

Eurythmics is my favorite band.
Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart paired up
as Eurythmics in 1979 after leaving 'The Tourists'.
Annie and Dave wanted to have more freedom
in making music and writing lyrics.
After working together as Eurythmics for 10 years
Annie and Dave decided to put Eurythmics on hold
and Annie began a solo career
Here's a discography of Eurythmics ordered by year:

1981: In the garden
1983: Sweet dreams (are made of this)
1983: Touch
1984: For the love of big brother (1984)
1985: Be yourself tonight
1986: Revenge
1987: Savage
1989: We too are one
1991: Greatest hits
1993: Live
1999: Peace
2005: Ultimate collection

Eurythmics made albums non-stop untill 1989,
Annie and Dave needed a break from eachother.
Annie began a solocareer and released three albums:
Diva (1992), Medusa (1995) and Bare (2003).
Diva entered the UK album chart at #1 and had
three top ten hits ("Why", "Walking on broken glass"
and "Little bird").

Medusa was released in 1995 and entered
the UK album chart at #1 too.
Medusa was a sort of 'tribute' album,
all the songs were written by other people.

In 1999 Annie and Dave were 'reunited' when received
the brit award for "Outstanding contribution to music"
They made an album named Peace and toured.
This is the last studio album they released.

Bare was released in 2003.
Annie had taken time off from writing and
recording to take care of her daughters Lola and Tali.
At the time it was 11 years ago when
she last released an album with self-written songs.
Bare became #4 in the Billboard chart.
Currently (august 2006) Annie is writing
and recording a new album.
There is no information about the album yet.

Dave also had a solocareer, sadly less
succesfull as Annie's but Dave
had/has many projects:

Dave worked with Candi Dulfer on the
"Lily Was Here" soundtrack. Candi and Dave
became #1 with the song "Lily was here".

Dave produced and wrote for many artists
(Anastacia, Jagger, Geldof etc..).

He wrote a musical called "Barbarella"
which premiered in Vienna in 2004.

He worked with Mick Jagger on the Alfie sountrack.

Dave has a band now called
Platinum Weird with Kara DioGuardi.

When Annie and Dave met up in LA (where Dave lives)
in 2005 they recorded two new songs;
"I've got a life" and "Was it just another love affair?".
The songs were released on the Ultimate Collection album and "I've got a life" was also released as a single. They also remastered 8 of their studio albums ("For the love of big brother 1984" not because it was released under record label Virgin) and added previously unreleased songs and put it together as an collectors item.

Annie and Dave have always said that they never split up as Eurythmics, the door to recording and writing together is always open. I think we can expect a new Eurythmics project in the future.

My favorite Eurythmics songs:
Shame
For the love of big brother
There must be an angel (playing with my heart)
Sweet Dreams (are made of this)
Revival
Who's that girl?
Wide eyed girl
A little of you
Missionary man
Would I lie to you?
Julia
Never gonna cry again
I've got a life
I want it all
Here comes the rain again
Love you like a ball and chain
Sex crime
Brand new day
Was it just another love affair
17 again
Love is a stranger
It's alright (baby's coming back)
Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Savage
When the day goes down
Power to the meek
Miracle of love
Adrian
Anything but strong
I need you
I need a man
How long?
Better to have lost in love
The last time
I saved the world today
