Over the last few years I have loved a lot of tv-shows. Most of them are comedies, I simply love to laugh. In stead of talking about the shows I will take a survey about them, for some even two! The L word Survey (Thanks to the L ward!!) 1. Where/how did you first learn about The L Word? I saw a commercial on tv. 2. What's the appeal of The L Word (to you)? It's nice to see people talk openly about their sexuality, it gives a confidence boost. 3. How do you prefer to watch the show? By yourself or with friends? Alone. Mainly because most of my TLW watching friends live a thousand miles away 4. Who's your favorite/least favorite character/s and why? I like Alice a lot, she's very funny and she's a very loyal friend. Least fave character is Carmen, she's very blah imho.. 5. Which character would you be on the show if you could choose? I'd say Shane or Alice. Shane is very different from me so it would be fun to go wild when you're not, Alice is just hilarious and open which appeals to me a lot. 6. What's your favorite episode (s1,s2 and s3)? (Yep, you may choose more than just one.) S1: The pilot S2: The first 4 episodes S3: The last two. Ep 11 made me cry and ep 12 made me dance from happiness 7. Are there any things that are not so great about the show? Yes, on the one hand skipping six months at the beginnning of S3 wasn't that bad but on the other hand it made you miss a lot of small information. For instance; how come Helena went from biatch to Alice's new close friend? I also think killing off Dana was a HUGE mistake. And bringing Carmen into their lives was a HUGE mistake too!! 8.What kind of storylines do you like the most/least? Do you have a favorite writer? I like the Alice/Dana storyline in S2 and the way it came back when Lara left in S3. I don't like the Shane/Carmen/Jenny storyline. It pushed Jenny over the egde (I'm not saying it's just because of that..) 9. There's been articles and forum topics OL and offline about representation. Does The L Word have to represent? What's your thoughts on the "butch" debate, about playing with gender roles, etc. ? Should certain issues and characters be addressed/more incorporated to the show, or not? Why? I think there's gender bending enough (Though "The Moira/Max storyline" was awful, should've gone in a different way). 10. Is the show too straight at times? (example: the het sex scenes of s1, Mark in s2, Gomey, etc...) Hm.. not really. It doesn't bother me. The straight sex scenes in S1 were a part of Jenny's coming out.. She wasn't really having straight sex anymore, she'd always see/think about Marina. As for Mark and his pervert friend they could be eaten alive and I wouldn't care. They're just guestroles to me. 11. Are there too few bisexual characters? I'm not even sure who's bi and gay and straight anymore so I couldn't even say if there's enough of them ;) 12. How do you think the different groups of viewers (lgbtq, straight) perceive The L Word? I wouldn't know. 13. There's usually bound to be a difference between s1 and s2 of a show, how do you feel The L Word's developed from (and since) s1? It's developed alright...! I guess it's become a bit too 'real' but at the same time very fantasy like. I don't know how to explain but the excitement is still here, at least for me it is, so it's developed in a good way I guess 14. Are there any themes from s1 you think they should've kept? They should've kept Marina! It would've kept things exciting for Jenny. 15. Are there any themes in the current season you love or hate (and would love to see developed or scrapped)? I hope the close friendship between Helena and Alice stays and I hope Carmen leaves asap! 16. What do you want to happen in the season(s) to come? I'd like; Shane to be herself again, Tina to make up her mind, to see Marina again and Jenny to dump Max/Moira 17. Who would you love to see on the show? (As a main character, supporting character or guestbian.) Well I loved Sandra Bernhard on the show and I heard Cybill Shepherd is already joining, I would not want to see Angelina Jolie join the cast in any way! I guess I'd love to see Sharon Stone on the show... 18. What has the show changed? (For you/the world, etc.) For me? More confidence, because of Jenny and Dana mainly (Alice and Shane played big parts too). For the world? More freedom of speech and freedom of sexuality.. at least I hope so! Pick a season from 'The L word' I pick season... 2! Best kiss: Between Alice and Dana in the bathroom at 'the Planet'. Worst kiss: Any kiss between Shane and Carmen. Sorry, just can't stand Carmen. Best seduction: Al though I hated Helena in S2 I thought she did great with seducing Tina. Worst seduction: I don't know.. Many characters are great at seducing so.. Best sex scene: Definitely Alice and Dana on the cruise! Even though it was cut short because of seesickness, it was still great! Worst sex scene: Very easy: Tim and Jenny. Or actually Tim. Jenny wasn't praticipating that much.. Best dressed: Some might say Bette, simply because she dresses very nice but I'm not sure who's the best dresser. I love both Jenny's and Helena's style, so it's a tie :) Worst dressed: Erm do gueststars count? If so I totally pick Tonya. Best hair: I LOVE the short cut Jenny has/had. Worst hair: Tina or Kit. Put some scissors in that hair ladies! Best villian: Oy... hard one. Tonya is someone I hate. Very selfinvolved and everything has to go by her plan... But she is the best villian. Worst villian: Mark. Awful. Best guest-star: Sandra Bernhard, she was very awesome. Worst guest-star: Do we count Gomey (the pervert friend of Mark) as a GS? If so I pick Gomey... Best Use of Music in an Episode: When Heart performed "Crazy on you" or when Peaches was on the show. Worst Use of Music in an Episode: Everyone has been bitching about the new themesong but I actually think it's not that bad! But it's overused, you hear it during episodes just outta nowhere! Best Angst-Ridden moment: I have to agree with Malinda Lo; The toast Bette gave on the bridal shower of Tonya and Dana. Malina Lo: "Dyke drama was showcased in its finest form during Tonya and Dana’s bridal shower in episode 2.05 ("Labryinth") when a miserable Bette toasted the mismatched couple. “I lift my glass to caring…and kindness and trust…and longevity and respect. To all the things that you'll need to keep your love alive,” Bette began. “I wish you... happiness. And I hope that you forever spare each other pain. And if you find that is impossible,” she concluded with heartbreaking honesty, “then I wish you forgiveness.” Did you hear that massive rustling sound? That was thousands of lesbians pulling out their tissues at the same moment." Worst Angst-Ridden moment: I really don't know. Best use of props: Ghehe definitely the dildo at the airport before the cruise. Worst use of props: No idea Best man: Well at the beginning of S2 Tim was very kind to Jenny ("you can keep the house" etc..) and I actually thought he was a good man.. untill he desided he wanted a "goodbye-f*ck" Further on there aren't many men I would call "Best man" so no winners in this category. Worst man: I only get to pick one?! Gomey, Mark, Tim, Bette's boss. Best Actress, Drama: Mia Kirshner wins hands down!! Absolutely amazing how much emotion she can put in her role, Jenny. Best Actress, Comedy: Leisha is hilarious so she wins this category. Leisha Hailey as Alice Pieszecki. This is a fabulous show which always cracks me up! 1. Do you own any WAG DVD boxes? Yes, I have S3 and S5 on DVD. 2. Blooper fan? Who isn't?! 3. Fave character? I'd say Jack. He's just like a puppy.... 4. Who do you compare yourself most with? Grace, we both love food :D 5. Fave season? I'd say 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8. 6. Fave episodes? Oy... All the S8 ones and the one where Will and Grace have an actuall grown-up fight, great acting performances by Debra and Eric!! 7. Fave quote? There are soooooo many but here's a few I love: Jack: "Ladies and gentlemen, fresh from 45 minutes of butt-robics, I give you my ass." ------------------------------------------------------------- Karen: [to Grace] "Oh Lord, honey, you are just as simple as that blouse you're wearin'." ------------------------------------------------------------- Grace: Hmmm. Well, you've come on a good night. Jack's mother is going to be joining us, and she doesn't know Jack's gay. Karen: How could she not know? What is she, headless? ------------------------------------------------------------- Cheryl: Mrs. Walker? Cheryl Bricker-Fossberg, Taylor and Hayden's mom. Karen: I have no idea what you just said. ------------------------------------------------------------- [Grace and Jack have been seeing Vince at a grocery store with another man, Dennis, and think he's cheating on Will; they don't know that he was fired and now works there, and that Dennis is his boss] Jack: [to Vince] We know what's goin' on. Grace: Yeah, we know your filthy secret. Dennis: Vince, I want your ass in aisle five. [Grace gasps] Dennis: And bring the mop. [Jack gasps] Jack: Oh, my God. What kind of a place is this? And why do I shop anywhere else? ------------------------------------------------------------- Jack: I can't believe I'm 30. Do you know how much that is in gay years? 8. Fave gueststar? Sharon Stone was a great gueststar, I really loved her on the show. Alec Baldwin was awesome too... As well as Ellen DeGeneres! 9. Fave couple? Grace and Leo. I thought Leo was very nice, too bad he slept with some chick but I forgave him.. I love Friends, it's sad it's over but it was time! 1. Do you own any Friends DVD boxes? Yes, I have S5,6,7,8,9 and 10 on DVD. 2. Blooper fan? The bloopers of Friends are tooooo funny! It's even a bit more funny then the actual episodes.. 3. Fave character? Eeeeerm... Monica and Chandler. She's very neortic but also very caring and very sweet and he's funny in his own way and in the last few seasons he was very sweet. 4. Who do you compare yourself most with? All of them actually. There's not one of them that really is a lot like me they all have a curtain quality that I have too. 5. Fave season? S1, 5 and 7 6. Fave episodes? I have so many fave episodes! but my all time fave's have to be: TOW Ross and Rach are on a break, TOW the birth (Carol giving birth to Ben) and all the pre-Mon/ChanWedding episodes. 7. Fave quote? Again so many fave's but here's a few I really really love: Monica: Hey. Where is he, where's Richard? Did you ditch him? Joey: Yeah right after we stole his lunch money and gave him a wedgie. What's the matter with you, he's parking the car. ------------------------------------------------------------- [Joey and Chandler have been fighting over who can sit in a chair at Mons place. Ross said that Chandler could sit in the chair if he got dressed for one of his dino-talks] Chandler: All right, you will notice that I am fully dressed. I, in turn, have noticed that you are not. So in the words of A. A. Milne, "Get out of my chair, dillhole." Joey: Okay. [He gets up and takes the cushions with him, as he starts to leave] Chandler: What are you doing? Joey: You said I had to give you the chair, you didn't say anything about the cushions. Chandler: The cushions are the essence of the chair. Joey: THAT'S RIGHT. I'm taking the ESSENCE. Chandler: Oh-ho, he'll be back. Oh-ho, there's nobody in the room. ------------------------------------------------------------- Ross: What are you doing? Chandler: Making chocolate milk. You want some? Ross: No thanks, I'm 29. ------------------------------------------------------------- Ross: [leaning over and talking to Rachel's lap] I can't wait to play with you all day, and to hear your first words. Phoebe: [wide eyed] Why are you letting him talk to your crotch that way? Rachel: He's talking to the baby. Phoebe: Oh, that's good. Because when I heard, "I can't wait to hear your first words" I thought, "Boy that's some trick!" ------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Fave gueststar? Tom Sellek, Isabella Rosselini 9. Fave couple? Chandler and Monica. Don't get me wrong though, I love Ross and Rach but Chandler and Monica were just my fave Friends anyway so when they came together I looooved it. |
